The Meaning of the term ‘Kingdom of Heaven’

August 3, 2022 by cloud church Leave a Comment

The term “the Kingdom of Heaven” is famous in Christianity since it is used by Yeshua throughout his ministry. What many people do not know is that this term, “Malchut haShamaim” (the kingdom of heaven), and the term “Malchut Elohim” (the kingdom of God), were terms widely used in the historical Jewish context in which Yeshua lived.
Yeshua teaches us about a spiritual and eternal reality when everyone is focused upon the physical and the temporal reality. Thus, the Kingdom of God was for many a promise and hope for the future, and the way to bring it into this world is by honoring our Creator: “Seek first the kingdom of God and its righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33).
